A time capsule of a year like no other.
2020 CHAOS AND HOPE brings together a diverse group of individuals and renowned experts, including frontline workers, everyday citizens, educators, activists, historians, scientists, and politicians as they reflect on the year 2020 and contemplate America’s future.
“2020 was a year like no other in America’s history, and the events of that year continue to reverberate and will have implications far into the future. What that future will look like long-term remains to be seen, but we hope our deep-dive exploration of the year will serve, among other things, as a reminder of the fragile nature of our democracy and humanity and make us reflect on where we go from here. We were forced to confront our country’s deepest-held hatreds and fears – it was impossible to look away – and technology pushed it all to the brink. But the better side of our humanity get us through the year. It is the hopeful spark that, while a hallmark of our nation’s people, is tested time and again. We hope the film opens the conversation for reflection on who we are and who we want to be and as a call to action to remind us that we are stronger when we work together. We also hope the film will continue to be an important time capsule for this and future generations.”
